Remy Ma's Son Reportedly Charged With First-Degree Murder

Remy Ma's son and an alleged accomplice have reportedly been accused of killing a man.

According to a report FOX 5 NY published on Wednesday, June 19, the rapper's adult son Jayson Scott was arrested and charged in connection to the murder of Darius Guillebeaux from Queens. Police believe Scott a.k.a "Jace Smith" and another man killed the 47-year-old man on June 7, 2021. Scott, 23, and another man Richard Swygert, 22, face charges of first-degree murder along with two counts of weapons possession and reckless endangerment. He is expected to appear at a courthouse in Queens for his arraignment today.

Guillebeaux was shot and killed in the South Ozone neighborhood in Queens. He was struck with multiple gunshots to the chest and head, per PIX11. Police are actively searching for a motive. They are also investigating the possibility that the shooting was part of a murder-for-hire plot. Eight months before the shooting occurred, Guillebeaux was one of 54 suspects were indicted following a massive drug trafficking investigation known as “Operation Heat Wave.” They were charged with transporting heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine to upstate New York.

Scott and Swygert were reportedly in police custody when the charges were handed down. Remy Ma's son was connected to the murder by DNA. Swygert was previously arrested on charges related to a separate murder from January 2021.

Remy Ma and her son have appeared together on numerous episodes of "Love & Hip-Hop: New York." He's also a rapper who goes by "Jay Janafi." The Terror Squad rapper's attorney Dawn Florio released a statement about the situation shortly after the news broke. See her statement below.
