Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist have confirmed their plans to reunite for the sequel to their beloved joint album Alfredo.

On Wednesday, July 16, the duo dropped the trailer for their upcoming Alfredo movie. Set in Tokyo, Freddie Gibbs portrays a warrior who trains with his sensei in the mountains by day and is a restaurant owner by night. In the clip, you can see the samurai team up with Alchemist as they run the restaurant and take on a few bad guys in the crime saga. At the end, Gibbs and Alc confirm the film (and their upcoming project) is called Alfredo II.

Prior to this week, Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist had been mum with the details, but managed to hype up the project using stealth tactics and the power of social media. It began last month after alleged cover art and a link with the album title were shared by blogs. The link pulled up a 404 error and the album cover (which paid homage to the original project by using ramen instead of Alfredo pasta) wasn't posted by Gibbs or Alchemist. Then, last week, a job listing for Alfredo's in Tokyo appeared on Craigslist.

The description says, "American restaurateurs Fred & Alan are coming together to open their first restaurant in Tokyo. High level cook needed. Must be willing to move to Tokyo. Must be proficient in sauce. Twice the sauce. Call (310)-895-9737." When you call the number, a message in Japanese plays, which refers callers to the restaurant's website, alfredostokyo.com.

Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist dropped their Alfredo album in 2020. The project holds 10 tracks featuring Rick Ross, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine and Tyler, The Creator. As of this report, Alfredo II does not have a confirmed release date. Watch the full trailer below.
