Bad Domination Entertainment: The Rise of Reggie Westmoreland

Northern California is home to local legends, like E-40 and Too $hort, but Reggie Westmoreland aims to add more names to the roster. Starting his very own record label, Bad Domination Entertainment, he has now grown his platform into an entertainment company and influential lifestyle brand.

Making strides in the music industry is no joke, but West makes it look easy. Within the short time frame that Bad Domination Entertainment has opened its doors, their records have gone gold independently, and are on their way to going platinum next. Despite that success, Reggie claims that when you’re independent, it’s like you have a ‘for sale’ sign on your head. Understanding the worth of his company, yet knowing the benefits of a major label, he adds, "I know that with major label support, we can do anything. We’ve already had a major artist tour overseas after starting from nothing."

Proud of how far Bad Domination Entertainment has come thus far, the entrepreneur reflects on how he started the company to support artists and take care of the business side in a fair and transparent manner. With iconic labels like Atlanta-based Quality Control Music and Toronto-based OVO Sound, there doesn’t appear to be a label like them on the west coast. Now, it’s time for Bad Domination Entertainment to fill in that gap. While working with rising hip-hop artist, Haiti Babii has been an incredible journey, it started out with a vision as Westmoreland was willing to work through any obstacles that the rapper faced.

Though Reggie is only getting started as a CEO, businessman, and music industry mogul, he wants to add ‘leader’ to his resume. Creating your own blueprint in music is demanding, and he wants to open a pathway for other young entrepreneurs like himself. Reminiscing on his heroes, he recalls being heavily inspired by the late Angela Kukowski. A powerhouse in Hollywood, she managed legends including Tupac, Whitney Houston, and Micheal Jackson. Knowing that he has the potential to reach legendary status, Reggie admits, “I want to have a large impact on the culture like her. I want to show young entrepreneurs the importance of following their dreams and taking risks.”

As he continues to solidify his brand, one of his biggest goals is to achieve a brand partnership with a major label. Through this act, the music executive aims to oversee the development of multiple artists and help more see the heights of success. As the world continues to hear about Bad Domination Entertainment, Reggie Westmoreland looks forward to seeing more recognition in the forms of plaques and press. As he manifests the future of his career, he said “I want to create something bigger than just a record label,” as he expressed an interest in filmmaking and content creation. While he is already halfway to his goal, the soon-to-be music mogul is determined to build a team of visionaries and create a name for himself and B.D.E.
