Maxwell's Former Intern Heads to the New Season of Survivor

Survivor Is Back!

The hit American reality TV show is back. Survivor is coming back to our screens TONIGHT with their 90-minute season 39 premiere, Survivor: Island of the Idols. That's right...39 seasons!! That's how poppin' it is.

It's an Emmy Award-winning show that challenges players to outlast the other opponents on the island while working as a team with a total of 20 players competing for the title of Sole Survivor and the grand prize.

It's up to the players to live on their own as a group and find their own food, and water not to mention no showers, bathroom or literally anything you can think of in order to survive (hence the name.) The grand prize? $1 million dollars.

While I'm excited for one of my favorite shows to come back, I'll be watching a little bit closer during this season because my former intern, Chelsea Walker is one of the contestants! Crazy, right?!

A little bit about Chelsea, she interned with me way back when I was on Philly's Q102. Chelsea has been a fan of Survivor since season 1. AND, get this. Back in 2013, she dreamed of being on the show and survive the outdoors. What did she do? She made an audition tape for the show to try and get her way in as one of a players. We posted it on the website in hopes she would be called to compete but...we got nothing!

Check out her audition tape back in 2013 here:

Six Years Later:

Six years later and C-Dubs made it! Chelsea is hitting your screens tonight for the premiere of the new season of Survivor and she is super stoked that her dream has finally been fulfilled.

Check her out in this Insta she posted with Team Lairo. You better sport that orange! And make sure to hit that follow button on @chelseawalker to keep up with Chelsea's journey on Survivor.

You can watch Survivor: Island of the Idols Wednesday nights at 8pm/7c on CBS.

Here's my full convo with Chelsea about the premiere of the show and her experience on the island!

I cannot wait to see her crush it tonight and I'll be rooting for my girl C-Dubs! Good luck, homie!
