Bus Driver Dies Of COVID-19 After Complaining About Coughing Passenger

Jason Hargrove, a 50-year-old bus driver in Detroit, MI posted to his Facebook page expressing some frustration about a passenger that was continuously coughing on the bus without covering her mouth. He shared that he felt disrespected and violated that this passenger would be so careless during this COVID-19 pandemic. As a public worker, his job is crucial to keep the city operating properly but it puts him at such a high risk simply by going to work everyday.

Unfortunately, Jason Hargrove was correct to have these fears. Just days later Hargrove tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and soon after that, he passed away from it.

This is such a tragic situation and Jason Hargrove leaves behind his family who is urging the public to take this virus serious and follow the recommended precautions. The CDC currently recommends that everybody do a thorough job of washing their hands regularly, avoid close contact with those who are sick, cover your mouth and nose in public settings, cover your coughs and sneezes, and clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces.

We all need to do our part to slow the spread and take care of those who are putting their health and lives on the line to keep us operating smoothly.

Check out his family's message below.
